This series was a fun experiment. I was interested in working with patterns to make a wrapping paper design. At the same time I was feeling a bit stifled by expectations directed my way, so to relax I gave myself permission to make something completely silly—a damask-inspired pattern made of awkward dogs sourced from internet memes. Combining this pattern with stripes at a different frequency was challenging, but gave me the opportunity to do a high volume of prints while playing with different paper stocks, colour combinations, and gradients.
